Aadhaar card is one of the most crucial identity documents in India, used for everything from financial transactions to availing government services. If your Aadhaar card gets lost or damaged, it can disrupt many of your essential tasks. But don’t worry—Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) offers an easy way to get a replacement. You can now order a durable PVC Aadhaar card online for just ₹50, and it will be delivered to your doorstep.

What Is a PVC Aadhaar Card?

PVC Aadhaar card is a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic card that contains all the information from your Aadhaar card in a durable and compact format. It is similar to an ATM or debit card, making it easy to carry in your wallet. The PVC card is issued directly by UIDAI, ensuring its authenticity. Unlike locally printed cards, only the UIDAI-issued PVC Aadhaar is valid for official use.

Steps to Order PVC Aadhaar Card Online

Getting your PVC Aadhaar card is straightforward. Follow these simple steps:

    1. Visit UIDAI’s Official Website
Go to the official UIDAI website (uidai.gov.in).
    2. Enter Aadhaar Details
Fill in your 12-digit Aadhaar number or Virtual ID (VID) and the security captcha.
    3. Authenticate via OTP
Click on “Send OTP” and enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number in the provided field.
    4. Select PVC Aadhaar Card Option
After logging in, click on the “Order Aadhaar PVC Card” option.
    5. Verify Your Details
Review your Aadhaar details displayed on the screen.
    6. Make Payment
Click on “Proceed to Payment” and pay ₹50 using credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.
    7. Confirmation and Delivery
Once payment is successful, UIDAI will confirm your order. The card will be printed and dispatched to India Post within five working days. It will be delivered to your registered address via speed post.

    How to Replace Aadhaar Offline

If online processes are not convenient, you can also visit your nearest Aadhaar Enrollment Center for assistance. There, you can request a new PVC Aadhaar card or reprint your Aadhaar details. Carry a valid ID proof when visiting the center to ensure a hassle-free process.

    Understanding Aadhaar Card Formats

UIDAI currently offers Aadhaar in three formats:

    1. Aadhaar Letter: The paper-based document issued during Aadhaar enrollment.
    2. e-Aadhaar: A digital version of Aadhaar available for download from UIDAI’s website.
    3. PVC Aadhaar Card: A durable plastic card with printed Aadhaar details, introduced by UIDAI in October.

It is important to note that only PVC Aadhaar cards issued by UIDAI are valid. Market-made PVC cards are not officially recognized.

Why Opt for PVC Aadhaar Card?

The PVC Aadhaar card offers several advantages:

    • Durable: Unlike paper-based Aadhaar letters, PVC cards are resistant to wear and tear.
    • Compact: Fits easily in wallets like an ATM card, making it convenient to carry.
    • Authentic: Contains secure QR codes and holograms, ensuring authenticity.
    • Affordable: Costs only ₹50, including delivery charges.

    What Happens After You Order?

After completing the payment, UIDAI begins processing your request. The card is printed and dispatched to India Post, typically within five days. The speed post tracking details will be shared with you, allowing you to monitor the delivery status.
